MILD Terhadap Perilaku Pasien Diabetes Mellitus Di Kelurahan Maharani Rumbai Bukit Pekanbaru

Abstract


The increasing prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and its complications will give impact on the quality of life of the community. DM patient care is very closely related to lifestyle settings. Changes in healthy lifestyles in community require education of health workers. While education related to improvements in motivation and lifestyle changes in preventing the occurrence of DM complications is still not running to its full potential. This research aims to know the influence of Motivational Interviewing Lifestyle Diabetes (MILD) against the readiness of DM patient behavior changes. This research is one of the application of educational and counseling techniques independently and collaboration for nurses in order to prevent the occurrence of wound DM. Its application needs a proper guideline and the right process. This quantitative research was conducted in Kelurahan Maharani Working Area Puskesmas Rumbai Bukit Pekanbaru. The population was 23 people with purposive sampling. The result of Chi Square test, there is influence of MILD technique on the readiness of patient behavior change DM (p value: 0.000 <α: 0.05). Expected this research can be used as a guide in conducting self-care intervention nursing DM patients. Further research need to be done by involving medical teams such as doctors, nutritionists and labs, and also addition of larger samples with different designs.


Meningkatnya prevalensi Diabetes Mellitus (DM) dan komplikasinya akan memberikan dampak terhadap kualitas hidup masyarakat. Perawatan pasien DM sangat berkaitan erat dengan pengaturan gaya hidup. Perubahan gaya hidup sehat di masyarakat membutuhkan edukasi dari tenaga kesehatan. Sementara edukasi terkait perbaikan motivasi dan perubahan gaya hidup dalam mencegah terjadinya komplikasi DM masih belum berjalan secara maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Motivational Interviewing Lifestyle Diabetes (MILD) terhadap kesiapan perubahan perilaku pasien DM. Penelitian ini merupakan salah satu penerapan teknik edukasi dan konseling secara mandiri dan kolaborasi bagi perawat dalam rangka mencegah terjadinya luka DM. Penerapannya membutuhkan suatu panduan dan proses yang tepat. Penelitian kuantitatif ini dilakukan di Kelurahan Maharani Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Rumbai Bukit Pekanbaru. Populasi adalah sebanyak 23 orang denganpurposive sampling. Hasil analisis bivariat uji Chi Square diketahui ada pengaruh teknik MILD terhadap kesediaan perubahan perilaku pasien DM (p value: 0.000 < α: 0.05). Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai panduan dalam melakukan intervensi mandiri keperawatan pasien DM. Penelitian selanjutnya perlu dilakukan penelitian yang melibatkan tim medis lain seperti dokter, laboran dan ahli gizi, serta penambahan jumlah sampel yang lebih besar dengan desain yang berbeda.
